How to Translate Telegram Messages, Channels & Groups
The short answer: Telegram’s built-in translate button covers only some languages and works one message at a time. Step by step
- Install Swift Translate from Google Play and turn the main switch on. A floating bubble appears.
- Open Telegram — a chat, group, or channel.
- Drag the bubble over the message you want to read. The translation appears where the text was.
For a busy group, turn on Chat Mode: it translates the conversation view and keeps translating new messages as they arrive.
Replying in another language
- Tap Telegram’s message box.
- Drag the bubble onto it.
- Type in your language and send — the message goes out in the other person’s language.
What about Telegram’s own translator?
Telegram added a translate option, but it has limits: it is not available for all languages or regions, it works message by message, and it does not translate what you send. If you only translate occasionally, it may be enough. If you follow foreign channels or chat across languages daily, the bubble is faster in both directions.
Channels are the best use case
